Pediatric Services

Where every child's nervous system, body, identity, and agency are met with respect.

Explore Occupational Therapy is a private pediatric practice offering advanced sensory integration, child-led feeding therapy, and relationship-based care — for infants through teens, including neurodivergent kids and LGBTQIA+ families.

Glad You're Here!

At Explore Occupational Therapy, we believe kids don't need to be fixed; they need to be understood. Our approach blends advanced clinical training in sensory integration with a deep commitment to autonomy, consent, and your child's unique developmental pace.

We work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school-age kids, and teens, and we tailor every session to the individual in front of us rather than a one-size-fits-all program. Whether your child is working through sensory processing differences, learning to eat new foods, building motor skills, or simply needs a therapist who sees their strengths first, you'll find a thoughtful, well-trained partner here.

This is a neuroaffirming, gender-affirming, and LGBTQIA+-celebrating practice. Every family who walks through our door is welcomed exactly as they are.

Our Approach

Three things shape how we work:

Respect and consent come first.

Therapy is something we do with your child, not to them. We ask, we listen, and we follow their lead, especially when it comes to feeding, touch, and new experiences.

Connection drives growth.

Using relationship-based frameworks like DIR/Floortime, we build genuine connection before asking a child to stretch into something new. Skills grow faster and last longer when a child feels safe and seen.

Strengths lead the way.

We approach development through an autonomy- and strengths-based lens, identifying what a child already does well and what they are interested in, and building from there, rather than focusing on what's "wrong."

Areas of Advanced Training

Advanced Sensory Integration (Ayres Sensory Integration) in-depth assessment and intervention for sensory processing differences that affect regulation, attention, motor skills, and daily participation.

Child-Led, Consent-Based Feeding Therapy: gentle, trust-building support for picky eating, food refusal, and feeding challenges, without pressure tactics.

DIR/Floortime relationship-based intervention that meets children at their developmental level and builds connection, communication, and regulation.

Trauma- and Attachment-Informed Care specialized training in how early relationships and experiences shape development, regulation, and behavior.

Children's Mental Health supports emotional regulation and positive mental health as a core part of occupational therapy, not an afterthought.

Play-Based Learning: therapy that looks and feels like play, because play is how children actually learn, process, and grow.

Why Families Choose Us

Explore Occupational Therapy is proudly neuroaffirming, gender-affirming, and an LGBTQIA+-celebrating practice. We don't see neurodivergence as something to correct, and we don't assume a single "typical" path for gender, family structure, or development. Every child and every family is welcomed here with curiosity and respect, not judgment.

We Offer:

  • Advanced, specialized training — not generalist care, but deep expertise in sensory integration, feeding, and relationship-based intervention.

  • A private-pay model that allows for true individualization and freedom from insurance-driven protocols.

  • A philosophy, not just a technique — consent, autonomy, and connection run through everything we do.

  • A genuinely affirming space for neurodivergent kids and LGBTQIA individuals.

Who We See

We work with infants and toddlers (0–3), preschoolers (3–5), school-age kids (6–12), and teens, supporting children with:

  • Sensory processing differences

  • Feeding challenges and food refusal

  • Autism and other neurodevelopmental differences

  • Difficulty with emotional regulation

  • Fine motor, gross motor, or handwriting delays

  • A history of early adversity, trauma, or attachment disruption

  • Or simply a need for support that honors who they already are
